v0.4.2 - More Jump & Movement, UI and Actually Upgrades


Hey,Third Update!

I have acomplished more than I wanted for this update and I now can say this game is fully playable now. But let’s see the improvements.

  • Movement

Last time I fixed the jumping, that was to basic , but now I’ve made some improvement in the running. Now the player has some momentum and is kinda minimum, but there is acceleration and deceleration for the movement. It’s not so big but you fell it when you play.

  • Jump

Well, now you’ll be able to control do height you jump by holding the button or not. It’s like a requisite for a game like this where you jump all the time. Also added a “coyotte time” for jump, that means you have like a milisecond to jump if you walk away from the ground.

  • Upgrades

The upgrades now work and there are some (not so many, like 5 for each weapon) and there are some attributes that can be improved:

  • Damage: The damage it does lol
  • Speed: How fast the bullet goes(If the weapon use bullets).
  • Area: The size of the effect or bullet.
  • Cooldown Reduction: The time it takes to “cast” the attack again.
  • UI and Music

So now there are a Menu lol. And options to change the music volume. Of course there’s also music now but is a free one which I found on a free music website just for testing audio while I don’t create the original songs for the game and making the stage cooler.

** Next Steps **

Next time I will try to bring at least one more weapon and add more upgrades for the othes. I’ll also bring new enemies (cause there’s only one right now). This art for the player is actually not final too, so I will work on it. And test some sounds for shoots and jumps.

PS: Yeah, guess I’ll follow this format for devlogs but I’m open for more ideas too.
